ADFGVX cipher decode
ADFGVX cipher decode, classical cipher, a puzzle not a protection, computed on your device. Output is uppercase letters and digits only, since the ADFGVX encoding carries no case or spacing.
ADFGVX cipher decode reverses the transposition under transpositionKey, then maps each recovered ADFGVX pair back to a letter or digit on the square built from key. Both keys have to match the pair used to encode, since nothing in the ciphertext names them. An odd-length coordinate stream, or a pair the square cannot resolve, is refused with its position given.
Questions
What keys do I need?
The exact key and transpositionKey used to encode; both control a separate stage and a mismatch in either breaks the result.
What if the ciphertext has an odd-length coordinate stream?
It is refused, since every letter needs a complete ADFGVX pair.
What if a pair does not resolve on the square?
The tool refuses and names the position of the bad pair.
Does it accept lowercase input?
It uppercases the ciphertext before matching against the ADFGVX letters.
Can I use this from the command line?
Yes, it runs the same on the page, the CLI and MCP.
