ADFGVX cipher encode
ADFGVX cipher encode, classical cipher, a puzzle not a protection, computed on your device. Not reversible to the exact input: only letters and digits survive, case and spacing are dropped, output is the ADFGVX alphabet only.
ADFGVX cipher encode maps each letter and digit onto a 6 by 6 square keyed by key, default CIPHER, into pairs from the ADFGVX alphabet. Those pairs are then written into a transposition grid keyed by transpositionKey, default SECRET, and read out in alphabetical column order. Non-alphanumeric characters are dropped first, and text with nothing left to encode is refused.
Questions
What are key and transpositionKey for?
key, default CIPHER, builds the 6 by 6 letter-and-digit square; transpositionKey, default SECRET, controls the columnar transposition applied to the resulting ADFGVX pairs.
What alphabet does the output use?
Only the six letters A, D, F, G, V and X, in pairs.
What happens to characters outside letters and digits?
They are dropped before the square lookup runs; punctuation and spaces do not survive.
What if my text has no letters or digits?
The tool refuses with a message saying there is nothing to encode.
How do I decode it?
Use ADFGVX cipher decode with the same key and transpositionKey.
Can I use this from the command line?
Yes, the same code runs on the page, the CLI and MCP.
