Loop video
Repeat a video a fixed number of times, or loop it until it reaches a target length, by copying its packets end to end. A packet-level copy with no decoding, so this runs in Node, the CLI and MCP as well as the browser.
Loop video repeats a clip a set number of times, three by default, or copies it end to end until the output hits a length you choose in seconds. Nothing decodes during the copy, so a partial final repeat trims by timestamp instead of a re-encode. This works in Node, the CLI, or MCP, no browser required.
Questions
What is the difference between times and seconds mode?
times repeats the clip a whole number of times you set, three by default. seconds repeats it until the output reaches a target length, cutting the final repeat short if needed.
Does looping re-encode the video?
No. Packets are copied end to end with their timestamps shifted, with no decoding, so quality matches the source exactly across every repeat.
What happens to the audio when looping?
It loops along with the video using the same packet copy approach, when the source has an audio track. A source with no audio produces a silent looped video.
Why did it refuse my seconds value?
Because the target length has to be greater than the source clip's own duration; asking for a shorter target than the original makes no sense to loop toward.
Does this run outside the browser?
Yes. Since nothing is decoded, it runs in Node, on the command line and through MCP as well as on the web page.
