CSV to XLSX
Convert a CSV file to a single-sheet Excel workbook. Every cell is written as text, same reasoning as csv-to-parquet: a numeric-looking cell is stored as its exact original text, never parsed and reformatted as a number. Runs on your device.
CSV to XLSX writes a CSV into a single-sheet Excel workbook, named by sheetName, default Sheet1, truncated to Excel's own 31-character sheet-name limit. Every cell goes in through aoa_to_sheet as plain text, never reparsed as a number or date, so a phone number or leading-zero ID keeps its exact digits. An empty CSV is refused before any workbook is built.
Questions
How many sheets does the output have?
One, named by sheetName, default Sheet1.
Are numbers reformatted?
No, every cell is written as plain text with aoa_to_sheet, so a leading-zero ID or a phone number keeps its exact original digits rather than being read as a number.
What is the sheet name limit?
31 characters, Excel's own cap; a longer sheetName is truncated to fit.
What if the CSV is empty?
The tool refuses before building any workbook.
What library does the conversion?
SheetJS (the xlsx package), imported lazily inside the run.
