Record voice
Record a clip from your microphone in the browser, then hand it to audio-convert to save it as a real MP3, WAV or M4A file. Recording needs getUserMedia and MediaRecorder, both unavailable to a background script, so this only runs from its own page, never the CLI or MCP. Nothing is uploaded.
Record voice captures a clip straight from your microphone inside an open page, then passes it to Convert audio, which writes a finished MP3, WAV or M4A file. Capture depends on getUserMedia and MediaRecorder, neither reachable from a background script. That restriction keeps this tool tied to its own page, out of reach for the command line or MCP.
Questions
What does it record from?
Your microphone, captured through the browser's getUserMedia API after you grant permission and press Start.
What format is the recording saved as?
The raw capture is handed to Convert audio, which encodes it into a real MP3, WAV or M4A file once you stop recording.
Why does the CLI refuse this tool?
Because getUserMedia and MediaRecorder both require an active browser tab and a user gesture, neither of which a background script or the command line has access to.
Does the recording leave my device while I record?
No. Capture and encoding both happen inside the page you have open, with no server step involved.
Can I record a video with sound instead?
Yes, use Record webcam instead, which captures camera and microphone together rather than audio alone.
